The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Community Engagement Campaign and the Northern Virginia Clean Water Partners represent local governments and utilities with a shared interest in informing their residents about various issues related to the safety and quantity of drinking water and streams, as well as the long term well being of the water system - treatment plants, pipes, etc.
Together, our goal is to work collaboratively to keep local residents healthy and safe by reducing the amount of pollution that reaches local creeks and rivers, including the sources of our drinking water. We use educational advertisements, publications, and this website to alert the citizens we serve about how they can do their part - simple steps they can take to make sure there is enough clean water in local waterways for families to enjoy them and fish and animals to survive and thrive.
